Rick Sutherland, owner/artist of Clear Vision Tattoo was born in Boston and transplanted to California in 1978. He got his first tattoo at a party in Corona California at the tender age of 14. He was hooked from there. Born with a natural artistic ability, his talents caught the eye of local SoCal tattoo hero "Mush". In 1988 Mush taught Rick how to make a machine and the basics of tattooing and it was on.

Specializing in fine line work, he spent a year and a half tattooing friends, comrades and doing tattoo party's until he picked up his first studio job at Charlies House of Tattoos in Simi Valley California. Rick worked for Charlie for about 8 years, managing the studio and building a reputable profile in his area. Rick has had pictures of his work published in Tattoo Magazine on a few occasions mostly in the early 1990's. Studios in Camarillo, North Hollywood California, and Tucson Arizona including KAOS Studio in Tucson, 1995 are some of Rick's travels. In 1999, Rick pursued other business ventures for a few years still catering to a few dedicated clients. As of 2006 Rick has decided he can no longer deny his true calling as a tattoo artist and now vigorously pursues that which makes his clients and himself happiest. Tattooing.

After 3 years of researching and hunting for locations in Moorpark, things finally fell into place and Clear Vision Tattoo was opened in February of 2011. Clear Vision Tattoo was created to provide a friendly, professional, sterile/aeseptic environment where anyone can feel comfortable getting their tattoo or piercing done. Rick and his artists have utilized Clear Vision as a springboard to help raise money to benefit local anti drug organizations and other charities in the Moorpark holding strong to the idea that Clear Vision Tattoo is determined to be a positive influence in the community.
